Unopened boxes of cartridge ammunition and other artifacts from the WWI or earlier era were recently found in possession of a local family whose ancestors probably participated in the Great War. Especially attractive was a Frankford Arsenal cartridge belt, which is shown and described on the Vicksburg's Treasures website. The cartridges shown here are the Remington .41 Short and a 10MM (10.4MM) cartridge (dated April 4, 1892) apparently designed for an early European rifle.Friday, June 28, 2013
